Attribution

A contested claim is presented as the claim of the person making it, never as fact. Where two parties give different figures, both figures appear with their sources, and the gap is flagged rather than resolved.

Sources

Every stop rests on a verifiable source, collected at the end of the piece. Figures are gathered in a separate ledger so they can be checked at a glance. Primary documents — court rulings, ministry data, official texts — take precedence over press summaries.

Use of artificial intelligence

Desk research and the first draft of the text and animation are produced automatically from a brief written by the newsroom. A human editor checks the facts, rewrites or approves every annotation line in all three languages, and takes responsibility for publication. No article goes out without that step.

Numbers and dates

Numerals are set in Western figures across all three editions, following Maghrebi press convention. Estimates are given as ranges, not single values. Provisional death tolls carry the date they were reported.
